The previous version of the Wayback Machine no longer works. Is this permanent? I ask the question because some missing content, which was accessible there, still has yet to appear in the new version.

According to http://blog.archive.org/2013/01/09/updated-wayback/ (Posted on January 9, 2013 by brewster) it says "The updated version does have at least one known issue – there is a small amount of older content missing from the index, and it will take us another month or two to sort out that problem." I've had a website since 1997 orionparty.org which used to show the older pages which I like to see up as it shows me as an early adopter of the internet, now my pages only start from 2001 which is quite late. Is there any way wayback can transfer these onto your new database?

I can't anything earlier than 4th October 2000 on orionparty.org the site was started in late 1997, there used to be 1998 and 1999 and more dates crawled in the early 2000s which are no longer there, they'd have been on the old site. Is there any way I can access these earlier dates?

There is a year gap between mid-2010 & mid-2011 on some pages, http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_general_election,_1945 as one example. This page was crawled regularly during this period which was visible in the old Wayback. I've noticed it on other pages as well in the same time frame.

CORRECTION. ',_1945' should be part of URL.

The cache on my computer has since been deleted, but I suppose it could be possible to recover this data. Until a few weeks ago it was accessible here: http://web.archive.org/old-web/*/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_general_election,_1945

afaik the new wayback has been completely reindexed. sorry to suggest this but wikipedia does keep an archive that is downloadable. i'll still ask our wayback team about it.

I only noticed the difference because there was an image on this page which was deleted from Wikipedia due to copyright infringement. Deleted images are permanently removed from Wikipedia, except for a message explaining why the file was deleted. This image had been archived a few times and was accessible in the old Wayback Machine. Since the move to the new version this and some other pages from the mid-2010 to mid-2011 have disappeared from the index.

What did the Wayback team say? Any chance it could be restored in a future update from the old Wayback or a backup?
